Salem Community College Announces First-Ever Women’s Volleyball Coach, Andrea Bartlett
Carneys Point, NJ. - Salem Community College is proud to announce the hiring of Andrea Bartlett as the first head coach in the history of the women's volleyball program, marking a major milestone in the college's expanding athletics department.
"I'm thrilled to be part of this incredible opportunity to build something from the ground up. It's truly exciting to join Salem CC and help launch a new era for volleyball here," said Coach Bartlett. "Our focus will be on creating a strong foundation of hard work, integrity, and passion for the game; with a culture centered on teamwork, growth, and resilience. I can't wait to see what this group will accomplish together!"
Bartlett brings a diverse and accomplished coaching background to the Mighty Oaks. She has spent the past seven seasons at Caravel Academy, where she helped guide and develop one of the region's strongest volleyball programs. Her ability to build team culture, develop talent, and compete at a high level has earned her significant respect throughout Delaware and the surrounding region.
A former collegiate athlete herself, Bartlett began her playing career at Delaware Tech Community College before continuing at Glenville State College in West Virginia. Her experience across both JUCO and NCAA levels provides her with valuable insight into the student-athlete journey, something she plans to bring directly into her new role at Salem.
Beyond her scholastic coaching success, Bartlett has spent over 20 years coaching high-level club volleyball, establishing herself as a knowledgeable, experienced, and deeply committed leader in the sport. Her long-standing involvement at the club level has allowed her to develop strong recruiting connections and a reputation for preparing athletes for college level play.
"Andrea Bartlett is the perfect coach to launch our women's volleyball program," Salem Athletic Director Bob Hughes shared. "Her passion for the sport, her experience as both a player and a coach, and her proven ability to build competitive teams make her an exceptional fit for the Mighty Oaks."
With Bartlett's hiring, Salem Community College continues its commitment to expanding athletic opportunities and strengthening its presence in Region 19 competition. Recruitment for the program's inaugural roster will begin immediately as the team prepares for its highly anticipated debut in Fall 2026.
