Salem Community College Announces Historic First NJCAA Football Season

Carneys Point, NJ. - Salem Community College is proud to officially announce the launch of its first-ever NJCAA football program, marking a historic milestone for the Mighty Oaks athletic department. The inaugural season is set to kick off this fall, bringing a new level of excitement, opportunity, and school spirit to campus and the surrounding community.

The Mighty Oaks will take the field for the first time in program history this August, competing against a mix of junior college programs and prestigious preparatory teams. The schedule features a combination of home contests at local high school venues and challenging road matchups that will test Salem right out of the gate.

The season begins with a preseason scrimmage on Friday, August 21, as Salem travels to take on MSU at 5:00 PM. Just over a week later, the Mighty Oaks will host their first-ever game on Saturday, August 29, welcoming Hudson Valley Community College to Pennsville High School. Game time is to be announced.

Salem continues its early-season home slate on Saturday, September 12, when Nassau Community College visits A.P. Schalick High School for a noon kickoff. The following week, on Saturday, September 19, the Mighty Oaks return to Penns Grove High School to face Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology at noon.

One of the most anticipated stretches of the season comes with back-to-back matchups against military preparatory programs. Salem will travel to face USMAPS (Army Prep) on a Friday night at 6:30 PM, followed later in the season by a trip to take on Naval Academy Prep. School at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium on Friday, October 23 at 2:30 PM.

Additional road games include a visit to Sussex County Community College at Skylands Stadium, as well as a late-season matchup at Erie Community College on Saturday, October 31.

Sussex County Community College will also make a return trip to face the Mighty Oaks at Pennsville High School on Saturday, October 17, with kickoff time to be determined.

This inaugural season represents the beginning of a new era for Salem Community College athletics. With a roster full of determined student-athletes and a coaching staff committed to building a competitive program from the ground up, the Mighty Oaks are ready to make their mark in NJCAA football.
