Salem Community College Names Chris Crowley First-Ever Offensive Coordinator, Adds Damon Troy to Football Staff
Carneys Point, NJ. - Salem Community College continues to build the foundation for its inaugural football season with two significant additions to its coaching staff, announcing the hiring of Chris Crowley as the program's first-ever offensive coordinator and Damon Troy as an assistant coach.
Crowley brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Mighty Oaks as they prepare to take the field for the first time in program history. A seasoned head coach at the high school level, Crowley led Woodrow Wilson High School (now Camden Eastside High School) from 2008 to 2011 before taking over at Deptford High School from 2014 to 2016. In between those head coaching stints, he also served as an assistant coach at Paul VI High School, further developing his offensive philosophy and player development approach.
Known for his ability to build competitive offenses and mentor student-athletes, Crowley's leadership will be instrumental as Salem establishes its identity on that side of the ball. His deep ties to South Jersey football also bring valuable recruiting connections to the program.
Joining Crowley on staff is Damon Troy, who reunites with head coach Jay Accorsi. Troy played under Accorsi at Rowan University in 1997 and 1998 after transferring from Penn State University. During his time with the Profs, Troy helped lead the program to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Division III national championship game, gaining experience at the highest level of Division III competition.
Troy's familiarity with Accorsi's coaching style and expectations will provide continuity and a strong cultural foundation for the program. His playing experience at a nationally competitive level adds valuable perspective as he transitions into his coaching role.
With the addition of Crowley and Troy, Salem Community College continues to assemble a staff rich in experience, regional ties, and a shared vision for success. As the Mighty Oaks prepare for their historic first season, these hires represent another important step in building a competitive and sustainable football program.
