Men’s Basketball Defeats Delaware County, Improves to 2-0
Carneys Point, N.J. - The Salem Community College men's basketball team continued its strong start to the 2025–26 season with a commanding 86-58 victory over Delaware County Community College. The win moves the Mighty Oaks to 2-0 on the season.
Guard Naseem Wright led the way with an impressive performance, scoring 24 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Zyaire Gibsin added 17 points, while Jarrell Little contributed 12 points and Saaid Lee chipped in 11 points to round out a balanced offensive attack.
The Mighty Oaks established control early with strong defensive play and efficient ball movement, leading to a steady offensive rhythm throughout the contest. Salem's energy and depth proved too much for Delaware County as the team maintained momentum from start to finish.
With the win, Salem improves to 2-0 and will look to keep its early-season momentum going next week. The Mighty Oaks return home on Wednesday, November 13 at 7:00 PM to host Bergen County Community College at the DuPont Fieldhouse. The matchup will feature a special pregame ceremony as Salem unveils the 2025 Region 19 Championship and Northeast District championship banners, celebrating last season's historic title run.
