#2 Ranked Mighty Oaks Top Bergen 102-69
Carney Point, NJ. - The Mighty Oaks unveiled their Region 19 championship banners, then followed that up by topping the Bergen Bulldogs convincingly by 33 points. Leading the Mighty Oaks was Nasseem Wright, who filled almost every possible part of the stat sheet. Wright had 25 points on 12-16 shooting, along with seven rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. 19 of his 25 points came in the first half.
To start the game, Salem went on a 15-5 run to go up early. Bergen fought back and brought the Bulldogs to within two points before Salem started to pull away. The Mighty Oaks dominated the offensive glass with a team total of 26 in the game.
Coming out of the half with a 44-26 lead, the Mighty Oaks would not stop pressing the gas. The team scored 58 second half points, with Zyaire Gibson getting hot and splashing three consecutive deep balls on his way to racking up 14 second half points.
Wright and Gibson weren't the only Mighty Oaks with great games, as Saaid Lee would post a 17/6/7 stat line, and Jaiayre Wright having a 10 point and 12 rebound double-double off the bench.
The Mighty Oaks play the home team in their next game against Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) in a neutral site game at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College on Saturday, with tip-off slated for 5:30 p.m.
