Salem Community College Rolls Past RCSJ–Gloucester 100–72
Carneys Point, NJ. - The Salem Community College men's basketball team continued its undefeated run on Tuesday night, overpowering RCSJ-Gloucester in a dominant 100–72 home victory. With the win, the Oaks improve to 12–0 on the season, maintaining their status as one of the region's hottest teams.
Salem's balanced offensive attack once again proved difficult to contain, with all five starters scoring in double figures. Jarrell Little led the starters with 14 points, knocking down two threes and finishing 5–12 from the field while adding 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in 25 minutes. Point guard Saaid Lee orchestrated the offense masterfully, scoring 11 points on an efficient 5–8 shooting and handing out a team-high 10 assists. His playmaking fueled Salem's transition attack and kept the Oaks in rhythm throughout the night. Zyaire Gibson added 11 points, connecting on 3 three-pointers and contributing 4 rebounds. Forward Nasseem Wright delivered one of his strongest performances of the season, scoring 18 points, pulling down 8 rebounds, and shooting 8–14 from the floor. Rounding out the starting unit, Stefan Phillips chipped in 10 points with 4 rebounds and two made threes, giving Salem another reliable scoring punch.
The Mighty Oaks' reserves continued to showcase their depth, combining for 47 points. Freshman forward Idris Rines led all scorers off the bench with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and a 5–6 performance at the free-throw line. His energy on both ends helped Salem extend its lead in the second half. Jaiayre Wright added 11 points in just 16 minutes, shooting a highly efficient 4–5 from the field. Quade'air Smith contributed 7 points and 5 rebounds, while Jahseir Sayles connected on a three and scored 3 points.
Salem's combination of pace, defensive pressure, and balanced scoring allowed them to break the 100-point mark for the fifth time this season. The Mighty Oaks will look to keep their unbeaten streak alive when they travel to face RCSJ-Cumberland on Thursday, December 12.
