Salem Community College Tops RCSJ–Cumberland, 106–78
Vineland, NJ. - Salem Community College men's basketball continued its dominant start to the 2025–26 season with a commanding 106–78 victory over RCSJ–Cumberland, improving to 13–0 overall. The Mighty Oaks delivered another complete team performance, combining efficient scoring, unselfish ball movement, and relentless rebounding to remain one of the hottest teams in Region 19.
Freshman guard Nasseem Wright powered the offense with a game-high 26 points, shooting an impressive 10–for–14 from the field while adding 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. His energy set the tone early as Salem built a double-digit lead and never looked back.
Jarrell Little turned in another all-around performance, finishing with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, knocking down four three-pointers and going 8–for–9 at the line. His composure and playmaking helped Salem control the tempo throughout.
Point guard Saaid Lee orchestrated the offense with precision, scoring 14 points while handing out 8 assists and collecting 6 steals, fueling several key transition runs. Forward Zyaire Gibson contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds, while Stefan Phillips added 9 points and 6 rebounds, giving Salem strong interior balance.
The bench continued to make a significant impact as well with Jaiayre Wright was explosive in limited minutes, scoring 9 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Idris Rines added 8 points and 6 boards while providing strong defensive energy. Quade'air Smith chipped in 4 points, and Jahseir Sayles provided steady backcourt minutes with 2 points and solid defensive pressure. Michael Goodwin rounded out the scoring with 2 points, adding key rebounding in his time on the floor.
Salem Community College returns home on Saturday, December 13 at 2:00 PM, hosting Brookdale Community College in the DuPont Fieldhouse. The Mighty Oaks look to extend their perfect season in front of the home crowd.
