Mighty Oaks Remain Perfect at 18-0 Topping RCSJ-Gloucester
Sewell, NJ. - The Salem Community College men's basketball team continued its historic season with a 96–84 victory over RCSJ–Gloucester, keeping the Mighty Oaks undefeated at 18–0 and firmly entrenched as the No. 1 nationally ranked team in the country.
Salem showcased its offensive firepower and depth, placing four players in double figures and shooting efficiently from the floor against a tough Gloucester squad. The Mighty Oaks pulled away with consistent scoring and strong ball movement, controlling the pace for much of the contest.
Freshman guard Zyaire Gibson led all scorers with a game-high 26 points, knocking down six three-pointers and adding six rebounds and four assists in an all-around performance. Saaid Lee continued his strong freshman campaign with 17 points, a team-high nine assists, and four steals, providing constant pressure on both ends of the floor.
Nasseem Wright chipped in 16 points, along with five rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, while Jarrell Little added 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Stefan Phillips contributed valuable minutes inside, finishing with five points and seven rebounds.
Salem also received contributions from its bench, including Idris Rines, who recorded five points, four rebounds, and three blocks, helping the Mighty Oaks protect the paint and maintain their defensive presence.
With the win, Salem remains perfect on the season and continues to build momentum as the top-ranked team in the nation.
The Mighty Oaks will return to action on Tuesday, January 13, when they host RCSJ–Cumberland at the DuPont Fieldhouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
