#3 Ranked Mighty Oaks Cruise Past HAAC 110-72
Carney's Point, NJ – The #3 ranked Salem Mighty Oaks cruised past Harrisburg Area Community College 110-72 on Thursday night. Salem started out the game very slow, posting only 13 points in the first 10 minutes of play and going down 20-13 early. However, they would tighten things up offensively, and pull away to end the first half up 46-36.
It was a very balanced attack from the Mighty Oaks, as seven of ten players finished with double digit scoring. Nasseem Wright led the pack with 17 points, along with four rebounds and four blocks. Nayeem Johnson posted 16 points off the bench, on a 6-8 shooting night. Jarrell Little also put up 16 points, followed by Saaid Lee and Zyaire Gibson who each had 14. Lee led the team with nine assists while Gibson led with nine rebounds.
The Mighty Oaks were super hot from the field in the second half, shooting 24-38 from the field and 9-18 from deep. This was a huge reason as to why Salem was able to stack on their lead in the second half.
The Mighty Oaks have now won three straight and move to 25-1 on the year. Their next matchup is at home Saturday, February 7th, as they host the Community College of Philadelphia.
