Carney's Point, NJ – The #3 ranked Mighty Oaks defeated Region 19 rival UCNJ 96-75 after a surge of scoring for Salem. The Mighty Oaks were tied up at 27 with four minutes to play in the first half but would end the half on a 16-9 run. Saaid Lee led the way for the Mighty Oaks with 19 points along with three rebounds and four assists.
The unsung hero for the Mighty Oaks tonight was Quade'air Smith, who picked up his first start of the season with the absence of Nasseem Wright. Smith had a huge night, with seven points, 16 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and three blocks. Smith was all over the place tonight, and had a huge impact on the game defensively.
Four other Mighty Oaks had double digit scoring nights, with Jarrell Little and Idris Rines both posting 18 points, Zyaire Gibson with 14 points, and Jahseir Sayles with 12 points off the bench.
