Carney's Point, NJ – The #3 Ranked Mighty Oaks were able to take down Camden County College after a great defensive performance where they held the Cougars to only 48 points in the matchup.
Camden put up a good fight in the first half, cutting what started out as a 14-0 Salem lead down to three going into the break. However, Salem boosted the offense in the second half to secure a big win for the Mighty Oaks.
For Salem, Saaid Lee, Nasseem Wright, and Jarrell Little split the scoring workload into three, with Lee and Wright each posting 20 points, while Little put up 16. Wright had a huge second half, putting up 15 of his 20 points, along with all seven of his assists.
Off the bench, Nayeem Johnson finished with seven points and five rebounds, while Quade'air Smith had four points and eight rebounds.
This was a huge win for the Mighty Oaks, who have now clinched the best record in Region 19 with one game remaining on their schedule before the Region 19 playoffs begin. Their final regular season match is on Saturday, February 14th, at 12 p.m. against Sussex County Community College.
