Men's Soccer Wins Fourth in a Row

Conshohocken, Pa. – The Salem Community College Men's Soccer team continued their strong start to the season winning their fourth straight match edging out Montgomery County Community College in Region 19 play. The win keeps the Mighty Oaks undefeated on the young season.

Salem lead at the half 1 – 0 on a penalty kick by Pedro Paulo Maia.  Montgomery answered back at 41:12 to tie the contest early in the second half.  The Mustangs took the lead shortly after on a penalty kick.  Vasco Almeida tied the match up at 16:42 in the second half on a header.

With the match tied at the end of regulation the teams entered overtime.  Pedro Paulo Maia scored the game winner in overtime with his second goal of the day.  With the win the Mighty Oaks move to 4 – 0 on the season.  Salem will be back in action Thursday September 30 when they host the Cougars of Camden County College at The Total Turf Experience at 2:45.
