Men's Soccer Suffer Loss To RCSJ-Gloucester
Sewell, NJ – The Salem Community College men's soccer team suffered another tough loss Tuesday to Region 19 rival RCSJ-Gloucester 5-0. The loss moves the Mighty Oaks to 0-3 on the young 2022 season.
Salem came out strong early on with several scoring chances that were just unable to capitalize on. Defensively the Mighty Oaks were solid, holding the Roadrunners scoreless in the first half.
In the second half RCSJ came out firing and the Mighty Oaks were unable to answer. The 0-0 tie was broken with 24:25 left in the match with a Roadrunners goal. The Roadrunners then began to pile on. Salem, suffering injuries to several key players, were unable to hold off the barrage. The scoring ended with just 58 seconds left in the match with Gloucester goal finalizing the score at 5-0.
The Mighty Oaks will be back on their home pitch Thursday when they host the Dukes of RCSJ-Cumberland. Kickoff is at 4:00 at the Mighty Oaks new facility located at 10 Freed Road in Pedricktown.
