Mighty Oaks Sweep Bucks County in Offensive Showcase, Improve to 10-4
Pennsville, NJ. - The Salem Community College softball team put together an explosive day at the plate, sweeping Bucks County Community College in a doubleheader by scores of 13-9 and 15-3. With the two victories, the Mighty Oaks improve to 10-4 overall on the season.
Game One
Salem's bats came alive in game one, pounding out 20 hits en route to a 13-9 victory.
Leading the charge was Bella Rappa, who delivered a perfect 4-for-4 performance with 4 RBI, while Megan Koski added three hits and three RBI of her own. Savannah Palverento contributed a key triple and finished with three RBI, and Jalyn Rambally and Lilly Peverelle each collected three hits in the win.
Emme Witter chipped in with two hits and an RBI, while Jaylene Aguirre scored twice and reached base three times. The Mighty Oaks showcased extra-base power throughout the lineup, recording doubles from Witter, Koski, Rappa, and Rambally.
In the circle, Jordyn Busch earned the win, moving to 5-2 on the season, tossing three innings. Emme Witter provided strong relief, going four innings and limiting Bucks to just two runs to secure the victory.
Game Two
The Mighty Oaks carried their momentum into game two, overwhelming Bucks County with another dominant offensive performance in a 15-3 win.
Savannah Palverento led the way with a huge game, going 2-for-3 with 4 RBI, including a sacrifice fly. Emme Witter continued her standout day, driving in three runs, while Bella Rappa stayed hot with three hits and two RBI.
Megan Koski added three more hits, and Lilly Peverelle scored three times while contributing two hits and an RBI. The lineup remained relentless, totaling 16 hits and executing well situationally with multiple sacrifice flies.
On the basepaths, Salem was aggressive, highlighted by Jalyn Rambally's three stolen bases, along with steals from Rappa, Witter, and Peverelle.
In the circle, Raegan Wilson improved to 4-0, pitching four innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out three. Palverento closed out the game with a clean inning in relief.
The Mighty Oaks will look to carry their momentum into Region 19 play as they travel to Delaware Tech Community College on Sunday, March 22. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
With the offense firing on all cylinders and strong performances in the circle, Salem continues to establish itself as a team to watch early in the season.
