Carney's Point, NJ – The Mighty Oaks dropped a tight contest to 14-1 Monroe University, almost completing what would have been their biggest upset of the season.
Salem was able to keep fighting back and forth throughout the game, and heading into the fourth quarter, they were only down one. However, the fourth quarter would be their worst quarter shooting, as they put up a 1-19 shooting performance from the field. The Mighty Oaks would go up 46-45 with 6:52 left in the game, but would not score again in the contest.
Justine Cardona put up 17 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort off the bench. Tanijya Shaw had 10 points and four rebounds, and Daniella Gustin had eight points and eight rebounds.
Salem drops to 2-9 on the season, with their next game on the road along with the men Saturday, December 10th, at 2 p.m.
