Carneys Point, NJ. - The Salem Community College women's basketball team dropped a tough road contest to Harcum College, falling 107–38 on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Mighty Oaks move to 3–13 on the season.
Salem was led offensively by Tanijya Shaw, who scored a team-high 21 points while playing the full 40 minutes. Shaw also knocked down two three-pointers and went 7-for-8 from the free-throw line in the effort.
Paula Wilson added nine points, connecting on three shots from beyond the arc, while Kasey Oliver chipped in four points and four rebounds. Ray'Nescia King finished with two points and three rebounds, and Jayda Hunter pulled down five rebounds for the Mighty Oaks.
Off the bench, Daniella Gustin contributed two points, four rebounds, and a pair of blocks in limited minutes.
Despite the challenging outcome, Salem will look to regroup quickly as conference play continues.
The Mighty Oaks return home on Saturday, January 31, when they host Raritan Valley Community College at 12:00 p.m. inside the DuPont Fieldhouse.
