Carney's Point, NJ – The Mighty Oaks Fell to Delaware Tech Community College 65-56 in a fairly close contest. The Mighty Oaks went into this game with a record of 3-15 on the season, and held up well in the first half against 7-15 Delaware Tech. Two girls on the Mighty Oaks had double doubles in the game. Tanijya Shaw, who led the Mighty Oaks in scoring, posted a 16 point, 12 rebound double-double, while Daniella Gustin came in off the bench and put up a 10 point, 14 rebound double-double.
The Mighty Oaks were able to go into halftime with a two point deficit, down 25-23 at the break. They were unable to stop Kai Burnette for Delaware Tech, who finished the game with 30 points, seven rebounds, and a game leading seven steals. The Mighty Oaks shot well from the charity stripe as a team, finishing 20-26 from the line.
